It's a very sad day today as my boy Red crossed the rainbow bridge in the early hours of this
morning.
Red came to me as a two-year-old so that he could be a companion to Rebecca one of my other
horses as her best friend Topaz had crossed the rainbow bridge a couple of days earlier.
When I got my first donkey Lucy, as she got out of the horse box the day she arrived, she took one
look at Red and fell head over heels in love with him.
From the very first day Lucy and Red were joined at the hip. He looked after her so well and
wherever Red was, Lucy was close at hand too.
Red was a true gentleman and loved his walks around the block. He was so gentle and loving and
would always greet us with a loud whinny every time he saw us coming down to the paddock.
Red was always such a strong, even tempered, and stable horse and we are really going to miss him
so much.
He always helped me on the animal communication workshops as well as the healing courses I used
to run from home. He would always be so eager to help people learn how to telepathically
communicate with animals and would allow them to practice their healing techniques on him
whenever they needed to.
He was also very popular with the rest of the donkey family as well as Tootsie and Henry our two
miniature horses.
It is going to take a very long time for us all to get used to the lack of Reds presence in the paddocks
and the stables. He had such a powerful presence.
Thomas and Jafta who looked after him so well for so many years are also devastated by his crossing
and love him so much. So does Jenni who used to ride him for me twice a week. She grew to have
such a close bond with him. Thank you Jen for all the love you showered on Red every time you
came to visit him or ride him.
Thank you also to Kobus for looking after his hooves so well for the past 20 years. I know you are
also going to miss my boy very much.
Go well my beautiful boy and fly high with the angels. You are now at peace and once again with
your beloved Rebecca, Penny, and Ballinor.
You will always be in my heart and my thoughts and I will never forget you. Your power will live on in
all of us especially Lucy.
I love you my Red.
Until we meet again.
